Planning changes that could impact local shops and streets

The State Government is proposing changes to increase building heights and densities across Stonnington, including buildings up to 16 storeys in Activity Centre Cores and up to 3-6 storeys high in wider residential catchment areas. Council supports good growth, but it needs to be planned well – and we’ve actually already undertaken strategic planning work to balance housing growth with heritage, character and liveability.

More homes nearby will mean more customers and foot traffic, but also brings questions about parking, deliveries, traffic, and how new development might affect the unique character of our streets. That character is part of what makes Stonnington a vibrant destination for shopping and dining.

How might your business neighbourhood change?
